Born Yuhina Lhamu Lachungpa, this vocalist, lyricist, and electronic music producer has carved a unique niche in the world of ethereal, vocal-driven electronica. Hailing from Gangtok, Sikkim, and now based in Bengaluru, Yuhina’s music isn’t just a blend of sounds—it’s an exploration of inner worlds and imagined realms, delivered with a raw, gritty elegance.

Early Days: A Symphony of Influences

Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of Gangtok, Yuhina’s musical world was as diverse as her surroundings. Thanks to her father’s eclectic taste, her home was alive with the sounds of B.B. King, Pink Floyd, Bach, and indigenous Sikkimese music. Her school years were marked by musical productions that nurtured her early passion for performance and storytelling.

The Leap of Faith

Before she became Yuhina the artist, she was a corporate product designer. But the creative pull was too strong to ignore. In 2018, after a period of soul-searching, Yuhina quit her corporate job and took a leap of faith, teaching herself music production. Moving to Bengaluru, she embraced the challenges of being a solo artist, crafting soundscapes that resonate deeply with her personal and creative evolution.

The Sound of Yuhina

Her music is a delicate yet powerful cocktail of influences. From the emo edge of Blink-182 and Evanescence to the avant-garde brilliance of Björk, Grimes, and Burial, Yuhina’s sound is a testament to her eclectic palette. She’s also reconnecting with her roots, weaving indigenous sounds into her compositions, creating a style that’s uniquely hers.

Debut EP: MNEMONIC

December 2023 marked the release of her debut EP, MNEMONIC, via Krunk Kulture—a 5-track odyssey of healing, introspection, and spiritual awakening. Tracks like For Chenrezig (a haunting adaptation of a Buddhist chant) and Brave offer a glimpse into her journey over four transformative years. Critics and fans alike have praised its emotive power and innovative production, securing Yuhina a spot among India’s rising electronic stars.

Live and Beyond

Yuhina’s live performances are as transformative as her music. From Bengaluru’s Echoes of Earth festival to international stages like the ITGWO Festival and Amsterdam’s iconic Paradiso, she’s left audiences spellbound. Her collaboration with Sheherazaad in the Netherlands and her sold-out show at Mumbai’s NMACC are highlights of a career that’s quickly gaining momentum.

She’s also ventured into unique spaces, hosting artist residencies in Mumbai and sound & wellness sessions in Goa, proving that her artistry transcends traditional performance.

Recent Tracks & What’s Next

Her recent collaborations, Lego House (Redux) and Data Thief with Space Hydra, showcase her constant evolution, blending lush vocals with intricate electronic layers. Up next, Yuhina heads to Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival, where she’ll deliver two distinct sets—one for introspective mantras and another for her signature electronic sound.

Looking ahead, Yuhina is conceptualizing a project that merges sound journeys, visuals, and movement—an immersive experience that promises to push the boundaries of her artistry even further.

From the tranquil mountains of Sikkim to the buzzing music scene of Bengaluru and beyond, Yuhina’s journey is a story of courage, reinvention, and unflinching authenticity. Her music invites listeners to introspect, heal, and connect—an ethereal escape in a world that craves depth.
